"Yes! Love!!!! Purpose was something I chased for a long time- and once I stopped chasing, I realized I’m in it! As much as I used to dream about and try to change what it is I do (school teacher) I always found myself teaching: yoga teacher, teaching about cooking, health, nutrition, music, plants, gardening….and I realized- I was in it all along. But because I constantly compared my life to others, I didn’t see it. Now, I happily teach and nurture and I live every minute of it. Even the hard minutes, if which there are plenty. Now I seek to find ways to expand my purpose to reach deeper and farther. ✨❤️✨"

"Whooohooo! Best month yet! I’m so curious about how this is going to go and I’m excited to try! Bring it on! ✨❤️✨"

"Haha best vlog ever! I can definitely feel the empowerment in your voice and I’m so happy this is the topic of my favourite month! Give me mooooreeee! 😄❤️"

"Climbing out of the depths of grad school research and emerging to spend much needed time on my mat before the next semester begins! 🫠😵‍💫😜 it’s wonderful and challenging and exhausting and my poor body has been somewhat neglected. I jump in here and there- and punch heavy bags at the gym but oh do I need this month here on MWA! Soooo looking forward to this- body and brain!!!! Walking into May full of curiosity and feeling empowered to meet challenges head on! ✨❤️✨"

"Wow this vlog is so empowering! I'll use it as a pep talk for those days when I feel disempowered (if I do feel that way again 😏). Thank you for cheering me up again and again ❤️✨"

The motor and sensory cortex sit next to each other in the brain so we can do similar things with sensory that we’d do with voluntary movement — we’re not aware of it but it sends 80% or so of the activation to our stability muscles. Hope this makes sense!! It took me months to wrap my head around it!"

Some (more) lovely comments on this video from our old website:

"That was awesome. Why does the touch sensation on one leg help with balancing on the other leg?"

"It’s kind complex but basically the touch stimulates the contralateral (opposite side) sensory cortex which then activates reflexive stability ipsilaterally (same side). It’s the same reason why if someone tends to injure almost entirely on one side of the body, training the “good” side can actually be more fruitful— reflexive stability which largely happens thanks to areas of the brain that work ipsilaterally and that’s actually 80-90% of the signal the brain outputs, whereas voluntary movements are contralateral and only about 10%. When we move one side voluntarily, the opposite side of the body has to stabilise; so we’re actually sending more activation unconsciously to the “bad” side (thus training it) when we voluntarily move the good side...

"the proof of "when you fall you´re not going to be able to think consciously" is me falling into a wheel on the couch and suddenly realizing - ´how do I come out?!´, then (after good few seconds) putting my head to the floor and slowly sliding towards the ground :D"
